In search of alternatives, the Tobacco Federation partnered with Fuenterra to help in providing medical cannabis as an alternative product to the 1,100 farmers on the lookout for new horizons.

With large cigarette companies closing operations across the country, this traditional tobacco-growing region has been forced to abandon its main cash crop.

The first phase of the project is under way, with the licensing, construction, and operation of the company’s model farm.
This facility will focus on providing learning workshops for farmers and is centrally located in the affected region.
In the same infrastructure designed for the smallholder, Fuenterra will teach farmers best practices for each stage of the cultivation while assisting them in licensing and buildout for their first crop at their own farms.
